Restoration ​​2025
  • Restoration work was completed in March 2025
  • Sand was used to establish a natural dune elevation
  • Native dune vegetation was installed to complete the dune habitat

Hist​ory

1989 - First dune restoration project completed
  • ​Removed invasive nonnative vegetation
  • Added sand to restore the natural dune elevation
  • Installed 9.6 acres of native dune plants
  • Constructed 4 dune walkovers
1993, 2005, 2013, 2022, 2023, and 2024 - Additional dune improvements completed to restore dune habitat lost to erosion.
